While work is still a little ‘grrrrr’, I know we will push through the bump in the road and it’s all about perspective really. I have had a really nice week all in all … actually I’ve had another fab year (thanks Mr F xxx), I’ve caught up with friends, had big chats to my sister on skype, my brothers eye is mending albeit slowly but he is mending, I won some stuff (thanks Katy & Kaye xxx), received some blocks in the mail (thanks bees xxx), I made some stuff, got inspired by stuff and then made some more stuff …

and because a neat- ish behind is always nice…

I’ve been making some more stuff too …….. for YOU! Hopefully I will get it finished over the weekend so watch this space …..

Last night I made a little zippy pouch for my partners hexies to travel in….

It only seemed right to add a little ‘cuppa’ to it ;)

I used a really great tutorial from Flossie Teacakes to make the pouch. Have you visited Florence before? She makes lots of lovely things and she writes nicely too, it’s a nice place to hang out. Her tutorials are great too, lots of pics and well explained. I like this zippy pouch tute as it has nice neat zip ends which you can’t see in the pic.

Hexies are all wrapped up and ready to ship out…

For some crazy reason I didn’t sign up to the { Handsome } Hexies Swap last round and continually kicked myself as I watched scrumptious hexies being sent and received. So after promptly signing up this time around I have been busily hexie sewing and completed my 25 little hexies last night for my secret partner…

The hexie size I went with is 5/8 inch, not nearly as teeny tiny as these or these !

I hid a couple of hexies when I took the pic – my partner has a specific ‘like’ and I think it would give the game away. I’ll share later of course ;) I hope you like your hexies partner, they’ll be heading your way this week. xxx

I grew up on a hop farm, my family still farm there and though I am thousands of miles away, it will always be ‘home’. So these funny, green flowers that smell a bit odd (in a good way) & make beer taste yummy hold a special spot in my heart…

And for a bit of weekend cuteness….remember this?… here it is in it’s new home…eeeek!

Yesterday i picked up some new specs – I only need them for driving and the movies etc but it’s still nice to have a change. Weird head angle webcam shot coming up so you could see the best bit … yummy green arms :) yay for green specs.

We’ve been having one of those fortnights – a bit work stressy and not enough play, you know? Added to that, my brother has been in and out of hospital with a bad eye injury and it’s hard when you just want to be near your family but you’re oh so far away.

Yesterday we spontaneously decided to take the day off and go to the zoo. And it was the perfect recharge we had been needing.

We live about 40 mins from Australia Zoo and it is fab. We wore khaki cargo pants – it’s only right.

I especially love the otters and the tigers and the wombats but most of all I love these great ladies….

The ultimate time wasters, I could have hung out in their company all day :)

I also christened my new jumper – it was a chilly blustery day and we don’t get too many of those. I’m not a knitter – I really really wish I was but have had too many failed attempts to mention - luckily I have a very dear friend who is and she kindly knitted this up for me. Thanks Bron xxx
